Real Presidents are respectful, have good character qualities and aren’t petty.
No they aren’t perfect, no human is. However they continually march toward betterment of themselves and of society.
Real Presidents are good people. Real presidents lead.

Yesterday while driving the better half and I were discussing our experiences with discrimination as gay men, his experiences as a Latino and my experience as a white male. Being gay men we can empathize about discrimination to a point, but we agreed we can never fully understand what it is to be black.
What we can do is acknowledge that we don’t have the same plight, but we can stand for what is right. We can speak out against injustice. We can love, support and stand with our black brothers and sisters. We can believe in the power of Love.

A message from the queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race
“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.” …..Martin Niemöller
Speak out now before there is no one left to speak for you. Your life really does depend on it.

Don’t Wanna Fight – Alabama Shakes – 2015
I like to change my header often to something relevant to a day, season, event or mood.
Today I am changing my header from Ft. Lauderdale Beach, where I presently am, to one I have used before when we found ourselves in societal situations that necessitated my pointing out that we must stand up for righteousness. The words in this header are as follows:
“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.” …..Martin Niemöller
To say that I am disgusted with the leadership of this country at this very moment is an understatement. I try not to focus on it and to look for the good where I can. However I have decided that instead of changing to match seasons, events or moods …Fearsome Beard’s header from this moment forward will remain the above quote until this FUCKING POLITICAL NIGHTMARE is over.
The character of a society will be judged by how well that society cares for the least among them.
Now I will leave Dolly’s remake of a Cat Stevens classic below as I need hope for our future.
Peace Train – Dolly Parton – 1996
We here at Fearsome Beard do not believe in war. We do not believe in guns. We do not believe in a supreme religion. (We believe that people have a right to practice a religion if they so choose, but they do not have the right to call their religion supreme to all other beliefs or non-beliefs nor force it upon others.)
We believe in peace. We believe in respect. We believe in truth, honesty, integrity, character and fidelity.
We do not support the actions taken by our government today. We do not support the individual who made that decision, nor do we support those who are complicit in this crime against humanity, civilization and our planet.
