America is a place born of dreamers.
The United States of America is greater when it is open and accepting of new dreamers dreaming their own dream of a better life and a better world.
When we close our minds we cease to grow and we begin to live in fear. It is then when we begin to die and we become irrelevant.
The man in the photo above is a friend who is an immigrant, or as he prefers it emigrant. That photo is of him the day he was sworn in as a citizen in 2002. He came here with $92 in his pocket and before he could get permanent employment he was involved in a motor cycle accident and wound up in the county hospital on the state’s dime. He was told he would probably never walk again.
Today he is a multi millionaire many times over and owns the leading coaching company in the world. He lives here in San Diego and I regularly attend his seminars. Hit play on that video and don’t tell me you didn’t tear up at least once. It’s set to Neil Diamond’s Coming to America.
The point is he had a dream. He came here. He got off to a bad start, but like most first generation immigrants he succeeded. Also, like most of them, he succeeeded very well. He didn’t take an American born citizens job, he hires hundreds of them to run his company. His name is Brian Buffini.
Immigrants made the USA what it is.
Don’t let a small minded fearful bully stop immigrants from making us who we are.
Fearsome and I are believers. We believe that as long as we are growing we are living and living well. We also believe that if we stop growing we start dying. Therefore we can occasionally be found at a seminar, reading something inspirational or simply on the phone with our business coach. Yes we have a coach. Coaches give us accountability and guidance to help us reach our goals.
Last week we attended Brian Buffini’s Mastermind Summit and had the pleasure of being photographed with none other than….
When we are ready, the teacher will appear. When we are ready the message will resonate with us.
What message resonated with me at this place in my time and space? Perspective.
From speaker Andy Andrews: Perspective….our thinking determines our choices, but we choose how we think. “Perspective can radically change results without ever changing fact.”
Our take is simply this: How can we move on and get to the next level when we feel stuck? Change our perspective. How do we do that? Starting with gratitude we can open our minds to the possibilities around us. Once we are open we can see opportunity or at least start moving in a positive direction until an opportunity arises. Then all we must do is act, work, share, give, learn, grow and be even more grateful.
“Life itself is a privilege, but to live that life to the fullest….well, that is a choice.” Andy Andrews
Giddy-up, Giddy -up!

For the next couple days it is re-charge time at Brian Buffini’s Mastermind Summit.
Fearsome somehow puts up with my need for motivation. He’s a good beard.
In August The Better Half and I will attend Brian Buffini’s Mastermind Summit. This is an event we attend together annually for two and one half days. It is a bonding time for us to set goals, grow, think and learn. We find inspiration from not only the presenters but the attendees and each other.
In preparation I will begin reading prior to the event. Two of the recommended books authors will be presenting. Much of the material we receive will have been inspired by these three books. Besides now that Ru Paul’s drag race is over reading will give me evening activities.
Time for me to learn and for Fearsome to grow.
One thing we learned from Ru Paul’s newly crowned winner and the next drag superstar, Bob The Drag Queen, is always…always enter Beard First!
A couple days ago I blogged about the hard part of travel. The hard part is leaving behind the six dogs and The Better Half. It’s good to leave home though as it makes me appreciate what I have.
Where on earth did I take Fearsome this time you ask? Richmond Virginia for one of my Real Estate motivational seminars. A Brian Buffini Success tour to be more specific.
The Success Tour is two full days of great information, motivation, laughter and love. Yes love, lots of it. We Buffini agents are quite a supportive lot. There were about 2000 of us at this event. Brian brings along other speakers as well.
Both were great additions to Brian’s message. I am full and have much to contemplate. After two days of sitting and absorbing I walked out to a beautiful late afternoon springtime here in Richmond. I felt a good long walk was in order. So I took one winding through the historical streets of downtown Richmond and along the James River.

We wish to send our wishes to a fellow blogger here in Richmond. We are sorry that our schedule did not match up with yours and hope that one day our paths may cross in the future. Tomorrow it is off to Roanoke to visit Mom for a few days. Wish us well on our drive down interstate 81. Until then….tooodleoo.
Just finished a session with Diana Nyad. Wow!
Her story amazing and her message moving. So glad I’m here.
One thought I wish to keep here for me, and for you, is a question she posed…
“What are you actually doing with this wild and wonderful life you have been given?”
Today Fearsome has to sit through one of my motivational conferences. Brian Buffini’s Mastermind Summit. He seems to enjoy it, I love it. We will share words of wisdom after the conference compilation tomorrow evening. Last night Les Brown reminded us that we all…all of us….have greatness within.
The room of three thousand starting to fill this morning. “All in to win!”
I’m in a training/motivational seminar all day today and tomorrow. It’s Brian Buffini’s Success Tour for my real estate sales. I’ve been a Buffini follower since I first drank the Kool Aid in 2003. I’m in coaching with his company to stay on track. I like it and Fearsome puts up with all of it. It will be a great two days.
So I post a quick video from Ok Go. I love this video since it features rescued dogs and is quite amazing. Ok Go is known for their inventive videos done in one take.
Enjoy, have a great day!
