A Weight is Lifting

I awake this morning filled with hope. A hope that has me shedding tears of joy. A joy that comes as a weight that has been hard to bear is being lifted. I’m finding it hard to express the depth of this hope.

The hope that I feel comes from my belief that inherently humankind is actually kind at it’s heart. While I recognize the faults, folly and imperfections of us, I see that kindness, love and understanding prevail over time.

I believe in sharing, promoting and focusing on the good. I believe this because I value that you get what you focus on the most.

There is a lightness to my shoulders this morning. There is an easier feeling than what I’ve felt in the past 4 years. My angst is receding. A feeling of relief, calm and serenity is coming over me.

There’s a kind of Hush – Herman’s Hermits – 1967

This tune is one I enjoyed as a child. It’s a tune that takes me to a simpler place. It brings me joy today.

Peace.

He’s gonna get you Red Barron!

In the mid 1960s a young towheaded boy loved Snoopy so much that his father nicknamed him just that, Snoopy. Needless to say that when The Royal Guardsman released  Snoopy’s Christmas in 1967, a 45 rpm copy of it was at the top of his list to Santa. Santa brought him his wish and he played that little record over and over until he wore it out.

That little towhead grew up, as all little boys do, and his nickname fell by the wayside. The towhead turned dirty blonde and eventually mousy brown and his beard came in a thick dark brown. Today his beard has become rather Fearsome, although the color has become salt and pepper with more and more salt every day.

The little boy inside of this fifty something large bearded man still loves Snoopy and to this day can never get enough of this Christmas tune.

Guilty of being brown

Careful, my soapbox is out and I’m standing on it.

So it appears that our US government has started denying US citizens with Hispanic names who live near the border renewal of their already existing US passports.

Apparently claiming that their US birth certificates are forged.

Why haven’t they denied white people with European names passport renewals in that same region because they too might have a forged birth certificate? Because these white people aren’t brown.

Why the FUCK do I have to write this post in 2018? Why the fuck???

Read about it HERE, it’s really happening.

So what, or who, is next? Deny my white Anglo Saxon ass who has an Irish surname a passport renewal because I don’t fuck the opposite sex? Deny someone else who might have a Jewish surname a passport renewal? What, you don’t think it could happen?

Well you had better the fuck think again.

Unless you are a white affluent conservative “chr*stian” republicass, there is a target on your back and they are coming for you. Yes unless you are all five of those you have a target on your back too, and you will pay. Oh and  “chr*stian” is misspelled, lower case and has quotes around it because in this day and time it’s simply a necessary label and no longer a moral quality. Yes I did just say that.

What can any of us do?

We can speak (while we still can) we can vote (while we still can) we can protest, talk, discuss, support, call, march, write, work, engage, relate, and most of all we must let this idiotic amoral leadership bind us together to a common cause of greater good.

I’ve had my rant. Fear, hate and anger only create more fear, hate and anger. Love, understanding and inspiration are the way to a higher level. May the Youngbloods’ 1967 classic Get Together lift us.

It’s a Beautiful Morning!

I awoke before sunrise this morning as my little dog Patsy jumped right in the middle of me to give me a morning kiss right in my very own bed. Damn it’s good to be home.

Beautiful is a state of mind. I believe it’s a state of mind each and every one of us can put ourselves in at any time we choose. I find all I need to do is appreciate the simple things that enrich my life at that very moment and everything begins to shift toward a better, beautiful and fulfilling state of being.

May your day be beautiful!
