I’ll just leave this right here.

In a recent interview a gun rights advocate reccomended that instead of having conversations about responsible gun ownership that students do something helpful like learn CPR.
Frankly we feel that conversations about responsibility, safety and betterment of society are not only welcome but necessary. However as a public service we thought having a quick CPR guide handy is helpful for many situations.
Please note that the very first step before initiating CPR is assessing the safety of the area in which you find yourself.

Not one more. We cannot allow one more child to be shot at school. We cannot allow one more teacher to make a choice to jump in front of a firing assault rifle to save the lives of students. We cannot allow one more family to wait for a call or text that never comes. Our schools are unsafe. Our children and teachers are dying. We must make it our top priority to save these lives.
March For Our Lives is created by, inspired by, and led by students across the country who will no longer risk their lives waiting for someone else to take action to stop the epidemic of mass school shootings that has become all too familiar. In the tragic wake of the seventeen lives brutally cut short in Florida, politicians are telling us that now is not the time to talk about guns. March For Our Lives believes the time is now.
On March 24, the kids and families of March For Our Lives will take to the streets of Washington, DC to demand that their lives and safety become a priority. The collective voices of the March For Our Lives movement will be heard.
School safety is not a political issue. There cannot be two sides to doing everything in our power to ensure the lives and futures of children who are at risk of dying when they should be learning, playing, and growing. The mission and focus of March For Our Lives is to demand that a comprehensive and effective bill be immediately brought before Congress to address these gun issues. No special interest group, no political agenda is more critical than timely passage of legislation to effectively address the gun violence issues that are rampant in our country.
Every kid in this country now goes to school wondering if this day might be their last. We live in fear.
It doesn’t have to be this way. Change is coming. And it starts now, inspired by and led by the kids who are our hope for the future. Their young voices will be heard.
Stand with us on March 24. Refuse to allow one more needless death.
MARCH FOR OUR LIVES!

Today’s PSA video ran as an ad over on YouTube this morning as Fearsome was watching his favorite classic SNL David S. Pumpkins vid. Being October he requests we watch David S. Pumpkins daily.
Please share this ad freely.
As per yesterday’s post, today Fearsome sent out his e mails.
Our letter was short and sweet and to the point.
Dear Senator Feinstein,
Now is the time to talk about gun control. Now is the time for Senators like yourself to hold the feet of the “keep quiet and let it pass so I don’t have to vote on it” Senator’s feet to the fire. The majority of polled Americans do support Gun Control and it’s time something is done. Columbine, Sandy-Hook, Virginia Tech, Pulse, Aurora Theatre, Congressional Baseball Games, Las Vegas and way to many others to mention, where next?
Thank you for all your hard work and please stand the ground and demand gun control legislation.
With great appreciation,
There. Talking about gun control will actually do a hell of a lot more to prevent future massacres than “Thought and prayers”. Feel free to steal our simple letter and make it your own.
It’s time. Whether you are for it or against it. It’s time to fucking talk. To stay silent only let’s all those just injured, to have been injured in vain. To stay silent only lets all those murdered to die in vain. Meaningless, yes their injury and their death will be meaningless.

Do I believe that people have a right to own automatic weapons or assault rifles or machine guns or silencers? No, I do not.
Do I believe in background checks? Yes I do.
Do I believe that some people should be prevented from owning guns? Yes I do.
Do I believe in limits on the number of guns one can own? Yes I do.
Do I believe that people should be able to stockpile unlimited amounts of ammo? No I don’t.

Do I believe that limiting guns through sensible gun controls will reduce violence, crime and mass shootings? Yes I do.
Do I believe gun control will lead to a safer society? Yes I do.
Will I let all those innocent mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and lovers die in vain without speaking my truth? No I will not.
Am I going to write my Senator, Congressperson, Governor and state legislator about initiating gun control bills and passing responsible gun control legislation? Yes I am.
As Fearsome Beard has done in the past, I will post links below for your convenience to look up and contact your representatives so that you may voice your opinions as well.
If our leaders will not talk about gun control when it really matters I feel we should hold all of their feet to the fire. I believe we should let them know that now is the time to talk. Now is the time to discuss and work towards a safer place that we all may live in without the fear.
Courage and strength is saying something when you see something.
Silence is just fucking complicit.
Why sit there stunned, mourning, angry, hurt, fearful and silent? Do something.

Thank you in advance for your courage. Thank you in advance for standing up. Thank you in advance for making yourself heard. It all starts with each of us standing up and speaking our truth.
Hemorrhoids, I’ve struggled with them all of my life. Yes even as a child I frequently experienced hemorrhoid swelling, pain and bleeding.
As an adult I have seen doctors, used creames and suppositories, consulted surgeons, soaked in epson salt baths, had them removed, had new ones develop and learned new bowel movement habits. I’ve seen improvement. I’ve experienced exacerbation. I’ve lived with hemorrhoids as just being part of life.
After hearing about this Squatty Potty thingy I thought it a useless joke. I didn’t take it seriously but I kept noticing it whenever it showed up in commercials and such. None of my doctors ever suggested it, not even three different surgeons I’ve consulted with. I recently decided that I might pick one up to try.
Then last week Costco put them on sale. In the cart it went as we had our Costco Saturday morning weekly shopping excursion.
Best poop ever. Easiest Poop ever. Fastest Poop ever.
After one week of use I am happy to report I have no pain and no swelling. I am on the pot an off of it faster than I can pee. I sit, pull the Squatty Potty out from its storage place right under edge of toilet, place my feet on it and plop all done.
We highly reccomend the Squatty Potty. It gets Fearsome’s seal of approval.
I sent a version of this letter below to all of my elected officials. I included in this previous POST an easy set click links where you can find and e mail some of yours. Feel free to copy and use my letter if you wish. I simply modified it as needed to each one.
Dear Governor Brown,
As you are quite aware someone has announced that Transgender persons are no longer welcome to serve our country. Then while the media is having a firestorm over that sudden announcement and as the senate -g o p- are dramatically playing out their “take the healthcare away from the poor and give the money to the rich” scheme, it seems the Department of Justice decides to submit an amicus brief stating that all LGBT Americans simply aren’t covered under the 1964 civil rights act because of who we are and who we love.
Whew, what a day of drama and side shows. I know that you and all of our governors, senators and representatives on the right side of history have your hands full. I want to personally thank you all for working toward a just, fair and equal society. I ask that you keep fighting for us and all of our rights as equal citizens no matter our sex, religion, race, sexual orientation, skin color, beliefs, age, pre-existing condition, income, social status and I think you know what I mean. Keep it up for us, for you, for the children and for our country. We need you.
Today while we were distracted by all the other flying bullshit…the justice department quietly filed an amicus brief in a federal U.S. Court of appeals stating that the 1964 civil rights act DOES NOT PROTECT LGBT citizens.
Read more HERE.
By taking this stance the Department of Justice is saying that LGBTQ can be descriminated against in housing, employment, healthcare and beyond. The DOJ is saying that I can be descriminated against simply because I don’t fuck the opposite sex, that essentially I do not have any civil rights.
They are going after ALL of us and all of our civil rights. They are doing it right now. They aren’t doing it tomorrow, they are doing it now.
First it was the Muslims, then the Mexican & Central Americans and the immigrants, now the Trans and all LGBT. Who’s next? Almost everyone is next. Unless YOU take a stand for justice now you, YES YOU, are either under fire now or you are next.
Trea sums it up
1) I can call a friend who needs support and give them mine.
2) I can become a member of the ACLU … or if I already am … I can donate more.
3) I can contact both my SENATORS.
4) I can contact my REPRESENTATIVE.
5) Contact my GOVERNOR.
6) I can donate to or volunteer for the DEMOCRATIC Party.
7) I can stand for justice, equality and righteousness.
8) I can speak out ( ….remember…Silence =Death).
9) I can talk, enlighten, rally and share with others around me.
10) I can donate my time, attend rallies and be visible.
What can you do? Pick one, or preferably all, of the above and stand up for humanity, equality and dignity for all.
Our recent additions to our family, Betty & Phoebe, were two of the little Yorkies rescued from the same horrible situation in which Rylee was found.
Most shelters would simply have euthanized Rylee when faced with more than 180 dogs in a single rescue. Not San Diego Humane Society, SDHS has been at zero euthanasia since July 2014. Their mission is to stay that way making San Diego County, which is the size of Connecticut, a no kill county. They are even taking in animals from shelters outside of San Diego County in order to prevent unnecessary euthanasia beyond the borders of San Diego.
That’s why we have stepped up our game and have committed ourselves to donating at least $5,000 annually to support them.
Even if you don’t live in San Diego, is it possible that you could spare $25 to help the wonderful mission of San Diego Humane Society?
If you have just a little extra, please open your heart and your wallet and just click HERE.
A little will go a long way to help those who love us but can’t speak for themselves.
Fearsome, Betty & Phoebe thank you!
Mom turns 85 this week. Mom is recovering well from the mild stroke she had back in early December. I’m flying out Tuesday to visit mom to celebrate her birthday this week. I got her a gift from my local Apple Store.
Mom lives alone. Mom occasionally falls. Mom wants to remain in the house she and dad purchased in 1957. Mom cherishes her independence. Mom needs some type of device to call for help just in case.
I’ve researched the Life Alert buttons, the call center monitors and the like. All of them scream you are old and you have to now wear this horrible looking button around your neck. Plus you must now have an ugly two way monitoring station connected to some call center in your home with a monthly fee. And, oh by the way, don’t venture out of range of this station unless someone is with you. Stay Put! Wear This House Arrest Button …FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY DAMMIT!
Enter Apple products. Mom already has an iPhone, an iPad and has WiFi in her house. If her phone is with her she is covered …such as when she leaves the house. However she doesn’t carry the iPhone with her in the house. Last summer Apple added an SOS feature to the Apple Watch OS. By giving her this new watch I will put a life alert system right on her wrist. One that she can even wear in the shower.
The Apple Watch features a new SOS alert that you can activate from the screen that will call 911 first and then start calling the contacts you have in your iPhone’s emergency contact list automatically. What if she falls and can’t activate the screen you ask? Apple’s SIRI has that covered as well. The Apple Watch responds to the “Hey Siri” command and will call 911, my brother, myself or whoever she chooses simply with her verbal command right from her wrist. Her phone doesn’t have to be with her as it will use the WiFi in her house. If she is out her phone is in her purse and she can still use the Apple Watch as it will then call through the phone.
Was it inexpensive? No.
Was it reasonable for what it will do? Hell yes.
Was it a bargain in order to have mom wearing a stylish hip happening piece of technology on her wrist that doesn’t scream “I am old and my son makes me wear this help I’ve fallen and can’t get up button”? Big hell fucking yes!
Knowing this information, what do I want for Christmas next year? An Apple Watch. You don’t have to be 85 to fall and not be able to get up.
This post is about men who hold positions of authority who abuse that position and molest young boys.
I have a bias against this man:
I have a bias because I was molested by men who held, what I perceived, to be important positions of authority when I was at the impressionable ages of 12-14 years. I have a bias because Mr. Sandusky has been convicted in a court of law. The situations around his case brought back many painful memories. The possible cover up issues that swirl around his case remind me of the cover up that went on around the men who molested me.
To say I have a tender spot around this subject would be an understatement. Just when this had all died down and I thought that the reopening of my wound by the news of this story had subsided, I find this news of Mr. Sandusky’s appeal.
Wounds are reopened again. Does Mr. Sandusky have the right to appeal? Why yes he does, the appeal process is one of the great parts of a fair and just legal system. Do I have the right to my opinion through my own experiences? Why yes I do. Was Mr. Sandusky one of my perpetrators? No. Were his practices and actions similar to my perpetrators? Yes. Can I say for sure he is guilty as convicted by a court? No, I wasn’t witness to his actions nor was I present at his trial. Can I have an opinion that he is guilty as was found in that court of law? Yes I can.
First…Why do I write this? Second…Why do I post about such a tragedy of abuse? Third…Why do I choose to use Mr. Sandusky’s plight to express my hurt, anger and frustration on this subject?
First I will start with the last question: I choose Mr. Sandusky only because he has been convicted in a court of law and is currently serving time as a felon for this crime. I choose him because he opened the can of worms through his choosing to use his right to appeal. I choose him because the descriptions of the situations he put himself in, which are widely known, were all to common with what I myself experienced as a victim of other child molesting men. Should Mr. Sandusky win his appeal and be resolved of all crimes to which he has been accused and convicted regarding his abuse of young impressionable boys, I will amend this post with an update and an apology for using him and his case as post fodder for a subject that obviously affects me deeper than I have given realization.
Back to the first question: I write this because when I saw the news that Mr. Sandusky had filed for appeal I had a visceral reaction. My reaction helped me to realize the depth of the pain I feel to this day from actions inflicted upon me by those obviously self loathing men that molested me. For years I internalized it, justified it and took responsibility for it. Yes took responsibility for it in that I took the blame. I blamed myself for it because I was gay therefore I wanted them to molest me. I took the blame for it in that I was alone and lonely and wanted their approval. I took the blame for it in that I needed them and what they could do to advance me and help me in school.
For that second question: I post about the tragedy that is child sexual abuse because it needs to be talked about. It needs to be said that IT’S NOT OK. It also needs to be said its not ok to cover it up, look the other way and it’s not ok to say nothing. I raise my voice in hopes that one child isn’t molested because my voice helped someone to say something, do something to stop it.
I realize now that as a child, in fact until I was at this very moment, I didn’t have the capacity to step up and take the responsibility to say yes I am one of those boys. I choose to not take responsibility for what those twisted adults did to me, but to take responsibility for speaking out and raising awareness for those who can’t. Those men took my innocence. They took my virginity and exploited it for their selfish adult pleasure.
By writing this I take the first step toward taking it back. The men who molested me, and many others I am sure, are long dead. The ones who aided them by covering it up or simply saying nothing are gone as well. I have no need in opening that pandora’s box.
When a lonely and outcast young boy finds the acceptance of an adult male he is powerless for he yearns for some sort of acceptance, whatever it may be. When that adult takes advantage, the boy (or girl) becomes more powerless. Once violated, the youth is lost in isolated oblivion that can remain a prison for years and sometimes a secret for life. A secret that destroys from within.
Where there is smoke, there isn’t usually a fire, there IS fire. When you see smoke, say something before the fire gets out of control.
UPDATE: I realize after posting that in case an individual, male or female, who may find this post who themselves are underage and a victim…You Are Not Alone. Speak up, you deserve help. Realize that by speaking up you are not only helping yourself but those who haven’t the courage to or are the next victims behind you. You have a voice.
Yesterday we felt helpless. Yesterday we did something to change that. Yesterday we contacted our representative and senators. We provided this LINK so you could as well. With the aide of that link it took us 10 minutes total to write all three.
This morning we wrote President Obama and Vice President Biden. I am sure that our letters are lost in a sea of letters and communications they are receiving but they are there. Without hundreds of thousands of letters just like ours, the importance of responsibility regarding this issue would not be forefront in our leaders agendas. Please write how you feel to each and every one of our leaders that represents you.
You can reach the White House for both Obama & Biden … by simply clicking right HERE.
Below is our letter. Feel free to use it as an example, write your own or even copy and paste it if your view is similar to Fearsome’s:
Dear President Obama,
Please do not delay in pushing forward responsible, sensible gun control. Assault weapons have no place outside of law enforcement and military use. Handguns need only be in the hands of thoroughly vetted responsible citizens and in limited numbers….if at all. The tragedies we endure can and must stop.
Freedoms are actually limited in a free society. They are limited by the freedoms infringement on the safety and security of fellow citizens. Of this I am sure you are quite aware. I believe in you and I rest assured that you will do the right thing by pushing forward and holding those controlled by the gun lobby responsible for our recent tragedies.
Thank you for your years of service. You are an inspiration. You have accomplished many great things and your legacy improves not only the United States, but the world as a whole. May sensible gun control become part of your legacy to the absolute best of your ability.
(Your name here)
Go Ahead….do something, say something….don’t let those lost in Orlando be lost without your voice expressing the necessity of responsibility.
