Good to hear/see a very different take on a song that’s been done to death over the last 4+ decades. And yet the very simplicity of its lyrics STILL holds such power, and probably will always do so. “Imagine no religion” – if only!
One further thought. The ‘no religion’ reference – so brave to put that in a song, though J.L. by then didn’t give a hoot what other people thought of him. I doubt if even today any singer or lyricist at all would dare to put that in a song for fear of backlash – maybe even moreso in today’s climate. I can’t think of any other song in history which declares such a notion.

Dolly dared to cover it just last year. I adore Dolly. I adore John Lennon for all he did. I remember the day we lost him vividly.
