Oh the memories!
Starting in 1994 my better half and I started taking gay cruises. We bonded with an incredible group of friends who are still with us today. All in all we traveled with this group on over 20 cruises as well as some other incredible land voyages all over the world. We have more trips ahead of us as well as getting together at each other’s homes throughout the year. We affectionately call our group our chosen family. We love them dearly.
On all of those cruises we spent many a night on the open air top deck dance floor together dancing till the wee hours of the morning. Somehow Janet’s Jackson’s “Together Again” became “our” song always bringing us into a tight circle whenever it was played.
Yesterday Peppermint released this video below as a commemoration of the original. She did an incredible job! I shed tears of joy watching it.

Thank you, thank you for sharing this, Fearsome!!! You don’t know me or what this means to me viewing this video for the first time. My husband used to do drag and we met Peppermint on tour several years ago at an anniversary for the club my husband had been on house cast at. Peppermint was the sweetest, kindest, most genuine performer I’ve ever met. I loved meeting her and I also loved this song by Gen X queen, Janet. Miss Jackson if you’re nasty. Anyway, my husband died this past December after 19 years together and you’ve given me very, very happy tears with this song/video now with special meaning to me!!! Sorry for the lengthy post. Bless you and your “better half”. Cherish each other always. ✌️

Thank you for your heartfelt reply. I am so sorry for your loss in losing your husband. I’m filled with joyful emotion that it brought you very, very happy tears. I shared that video by text to my chosen family after posting it here, and had many replied with tears of joy just as I had in discovering it. In life we are together with so many we love and at some point we all must separate for various reasons. That song has always brought me solace that one day we will all be together again. I truly believe we will be. Janet originally released it, but it’s as if Peppermint commemorated it just for you, and just for me…for us all. Hug.

Someone used to enjoy cruises when we met; he’s shown no interest anymore I wondered what happened. We did Pied Piper and had good traveling companions, although none remained friends.
I was an RSVP queen. Also did a few Atlantis.
