What we Brits would call ‘braces’. For us suspenders are (usually) what women wear to hold up their stockings, though I suppose literally ‘suspenders’ is a more accurate term for something to hold up one’s trousers – sorry, ‘pants’. :-)
No way would I kick him out of bed – though whether he’d have wanted to get into my bed in the first place is another question to which I’m pretty sure I know the answer (sigh!).
