My mother died yesterday.
It wasn’t a surprise.
She has been declining for a long while and took a sharp turn a few weeks ago with another fall and a gash to her head.
She did the best she could but at 91, and in declining health, overcoming that challenge wasn’t in her capabilities.
She fought leaving, however her body was done.
Fortunately my brother was able to fly out here and be with her this week.
We loved her and she loved us.
During one short period of lucid thoughts and communication on Tuesday she out of the blue said “I want you to take a picture of us”.
She knew.
Her great grandson Caleb drew this for her yesterday evening after her passing. He did a great job as I can tell that Angel is her.

Godspeed mom.
I Love you.

My sympathies are with you and your family. I know you were close to your mom.
Thank you.
On the arms of the angels … condolences.
Thank you.
It may not have been a surprise, but it’s still rough, especially as (if I remember correctly) she was living with you and TBH? I hope you take care of yourself and make space to grieve.
Thank you.
After her March 04, 2023 fall and hospitalization she moved into an assisted living very near our house. I visited her daily at least once if not more depending what was going on. Her room here at the house is still intact in case she were to ever get back in condition to move back. I just now got home from the assisted living gathering her things. I’ll go about starting to sort out her belongings in a couple weeks. Right now there is no rush.
With deep sympathy; may she rest in peace.
Thank you.
{{{HUGS}}} to you and your family.
Hugs accepted.
May you be held tightly in your grief.

Very sorry for your loss. My mother-in-law is also 91 and while her mind is still sharp her body is failing her too and it is decline that really cannot be stopped at this point. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts.
My best to you as well, it’s not easy. Fortunately mom’s mind was intact until the last few days.
So sorry to hear of your loss.
Thank you.
It is Sunday night and I just read this. In times like this there are no words although we all want to reach out with something and it is all lame and useless. What matters is knowing people are feeling for you/there for you. I am glad to see all the Love here in the comments. You are a very fortunate man to have had her – and your support.
😘
