It’s a beautiful sunny morning and no better way than to welcome spring than with Tiny Tim’s fabulous rendition of Tip Toe Through The Tulips.
Tiny Tim – Tiptoe Thru The Tulips With Me – 1968
May spring 2021 bring each and everyone who finds this little post health, happiness and peace.
this song is a ear worm the I admit I like to hear over and over.
It is cloying and fun.
I miss Tiny Tim. It’s a shame the youngsters don’t know about him.
OH WOW! I have not heard this song in ages! sunny blue skies and 56F here.
At the end of that year, one of the pop music newspapers I subscribed to at the time did their annual survey of asking readers to vote for Best single and L,P. of the year, best singer, best personality etc. I voted Tiny Tim as ‘Best New Discovery’. [He came nowhere in the final results]. His sole chart entry in our charts was his follow-up to this one, ‘Great Balls of Fire’, reaching a hardly perceptible #45.
I always remember my first hearing of ‘Tulips’ when it came on the radio without any pre-announcement, my dad nodding his head approvingly in time to the music, my mum from the kitchen laughing and exclaiming “Oh my!” Like everyone who hadn’t already known, we’d assumed that the voice was female.
I still like it enormously.
