If I was younger and able to feel it likely I’d live long enough to be able to re-home another cat without my snuffing it first, I’d choose an all-black adult cat simply because I think they are the least popular to be re-housed – though I’ve got no evidence that this is so. I think most prospective cat owners would go for one that is brightly or unusually patterned, especially if there’s a child in the family who’d quickly get bored with an all-black. In this country luck of either kind I don’t think would play a part, especially when a lot of people can’t remember whether they represent good or bad luck, the cats of witches being traditionally all-black too.
