It’s been a rough day.
We all have ‘em once in a while.
When having such a day, I like to listen to a tune that makes me feel good.
Today I need this tune.

I well recall this ‘smiley’ record coming out.( I ought to as I’d have been 20 at the time). Although it had already been a Number One smash in U.S.A. it was quite surprising that it only reached #12 here, their follow-ups ‘She’d Rather Be With Me’ and ‘Elinor’ faring rather better – #4 and #7 respectively. This one is among those chart hits that identifies an era, arriving just on the coat-tails of ‘Flower Power’.
FLO & EDDIE!
I love this song! The video tickled me. It’s so funny how what were groovy, with it, hip bands now look so totally nerdy and geekyfied. I was eleven in ’67, but I don’t remember being that young at the time. Thank you Fearsome! I’m going to pull out my ’60s hits dvds and bop to house cleaning.
That… is the first 45 record I ever bought. My Dad took me downtown to the H.L. Green department store and bought it with money from my own allowance.
I have this tune on my ‘comfort tunes’ playlist.
